Significance
Memorial plaques are mounted on a 4-inch Mark IX naval gun (gun LL005 in the Gunners Association of South Africa's Register of Heritage Guns).

The gun was acquired by 
Major C.R. Wolhuter E.D, 
Mayor of Robertson 
1956-1959. 

The Monumentl was erected 
by public subscription

WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES 
IN SERVING THEIR COUNTRY

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

There are Rolls of Honour for both World Wars inside the gun shield
