Head Constable Milne is buried in the Saint John the Baptist Anglican Church Cemetery on the corner of 8th Avenue and Church Road in Walmer, Port Elizabeth

GPS 33 deg 58 min 33 sec S, 25 deg 35 min 02 sec E

Significance
The South African Police was responsible for containing the violent labour unrest on the East Rand known as the Rand Revolt, also known as the Rand Rebellion or the 1922 Miners' Strike, until Martial Law was declared on 10 March 1922 and the Union Defence Force was deployed to suppress the Revolt.

Head Constable Milne was one of the two of the policemen killed during the Revolt who are buried in Port Elizabeth.

Head Constable John Milne was Killed in Action at Dunswart on 12 March 1922.
