Location
New Roodepoort Cemetery (Dobsonville cemetery), Braamfischerville, Johannesburg, Gauteng Province, South Africa
On Main Reef Rd (R41) heading west towards Randfontein, turn left into Dobsonville Road.
Drive about 3.4 kms until Dobsonville Road crosses Freedom Drive, which become Rorl Street and Dobsonville Road becomes Elias Motsoaledi Road at this intersection.
Drive 390 metres along Elias Motsoaledi Road. The cemetery is on the right.
Turn right onto Sebo Gold Road which is a sand road. Approximately 90 metres along Sebo Gold is another sand road that runs along the side of the cemetery. Follow this road for 235 metres to the cemetery entrance.
The Memorial is 50 metres from the office on the right.

Interesting addition
Corporal John Frederick MacKay, 1st Bn Gordon Highlanders was awarded the Victoria Cross for gallantry during the 29 May 1900 Doornkop action. He died in 1930 and is buried in France.
