A Memorial Stone on the outside of the northern wall of the Church, close to the pedestrian entrance reads

THIS STONE WAS LAID 
BY No 1159 Pte NOEL H. SMITH 1st SAI
IN MEMORY OF THOSE FROM THIS DISTRICT 
WHO SERVED IN THE GREAT WAR
1914-1919
AUGUST 2ND 1919
