ACTIVITIES
The Society has continued with its monthly meetings and
a list of the lectures delivered during the first six months
appears elsewhere in the journal.
The Annual General Meeting held on 11 April 1985 was
very well attended. The retiring Chairman, Maj Darrell D.
Hall, was unanimously re-elected as Chairman of the Society
for the third year in this his second term of office as
Chairman

The Roderick G. Murchison Memorial Prize for the best
contribution to the Military History Journal in 1984 was
awarded to Dr Stanley Monick for his two articles on the
Dardanelles and Gallipoli which appeared in the June and
December issues of the Journal.
It is of interest to record that another member of the Society,
Dr Philip Gon, has added to his previous work, 'The Road to Isandlwana' by
writing 'Send Carrington! the story of an Imperial Frontiersman'
