Significance
These plaques record that
The 2 plaques on the left of the middle plaque record the names and are dedicated in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa in remembrance of Boer Prisoners of War who died in the Transit Camp on Greenpoint Common during the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902.

A plaque to the right of the middle plaque has the Cape Garrison Artillery Rolls of Honour from the Anglo-Boer War and World War 1 and is dedicated to the everlasting memory of the soldiers from the Cape Garrison Artillery who died in defence of their country

The right-hand plaque is dedicated in English and Russian 
To the memory of those Russians who
fought for the Boers in the Anglo-Boer War
and some of whom lost
their lives for the Boer cause
