  • THE ORDNANCE SOCIETY - The Society was formed over 35 years ago to promote, encourage and co-ordinate the study of all aspects of the history of ordnance and artillery. It is today, an international society with members from more than 20 countries.
Its primary aim is to provide a means of communication for individuals and organisations interested in ordnance and artillery of all periods and to enable publication of their research and interests. The Society also publishes its own researches and has a growing library of ordnance documents, articles photographs and books available for download by members.
The Ordnance Society has been carrying out a survey of preserved B.L. and Q.F. guns in the UK and a survey of British guns abroad. The UK survey has just been updated and now includes 566 guns with detailed technical and historical information, as well as links to many photos. The surveys are freely available for download.
