Strategically the Dreadnought had a profound effect - she was so superior in her firepower and speed that she initiated a naval race between major natione for superiority in numbers of this type of ship. This eventually became the Anglo-German race, won ultimately by the British but only at a profound cost in relatione between the two countries.

SUGGESTION BOX: DR A.W. HUSBAND has suggested that as the Society does not operate a library, and it is unlikely that members who have their own military history library possess precisely the same booke, a scheme should be introduced whereby a mutual borrowing of booke by membere could take place. The Executive Committee supports the proposal in principle but would welcome the viewe of members on the queetion of implementation. Should you wish to discuss the matter with Dr. Husband, he can be contacted telephonically at nm-nmnmn after hours .
