Recent Publications

Mr. Gordon McGregor has recently published a book on the German South West Africa Commemorative Medal with the bars "Kalahari 1907" and "Kalahari 1908". This was a unique occasion in that Germany awarded her medals to Imperial British forces. The book, which includes medal roll, is available from Gordon McGregor, P.O. Box 9338, Windhoek, South West Africa at a price of R8.70 plus Rl.00 postage and packing.

Mr. Roy Macnab, who addressed the Society on the defence of the French Cavalry School at Saumur, has recently had his book published on this subject. The book is titled "For Honour Alone" and is available from Trinity Books.

The Johannesburg Meetings take place in the J.C. Lemmer Auditorium, S.A. National Museum of Military History, Saxonwold, Johannesburg at 20h00.

Members will be saddened to hear of the recent death of Mr. Don Forsyth, the first Chairman of the Society and well known for his substantial contribution to military history, especially, with regard to medal rolls.
