NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an Annual General Meeting of the Cape Town Branch will be held at 8.15 p.m. on Thursday 9th October,1980, in the A.K. Du Toit Room of the Athenaeum, 154 Campground Road, Newlands, to consider the business set forth in the subjoined Agenda.

10. In response to members' requests, MAJOR ANTHONY GORDON, Guest Speaker at the August meeting, will talk further on his experiences in ADEN with the 1st Battalion Kings Own Scottish Borderers between 1962 to 1964 and his later experiences when he returned aboard the aircraft carrier H.M.S. Eagle to cover the British withdrawal in November/December 1967, which he was not able to deal with fully in August. His talk will be illustrated with slides.

NOTE: NOMINATIONS AND NOTICES OF MOTION MAY BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO THE MEETING BUT SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE VICE-CHAIRMAN.

The final meeting of the year takes place at 8.15 p.m. on THURSDAY, 13th NOVEMBER, 1980 in the A.K. Du Toit Room of THE ATHENAEUM, 154 CAMPGROUND ROAD, NEWLANDS.

SPEAKER: Professor J.C. De Villiers, M.D., F.R.C.S., Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, Medical School, U.C.T.

TOPIC: "MEDICAL SERVICES DURING THE ANGLO-BOER WAR: 1899 TO 1902", dealing with the aspect of the medical organisation on both the British and Boer sides and the practical problems to be overcome.

Professor De Villiers will illustrate his talk with slides.
