Tour of battlefields of Magersfontein, Modder River, Belmont and Paardeberg.
To help members we are able to give the prices of some of the hotels which are as follows:
1. Savoy (3 star) R5.50 bed & breakfast with bath
2. Grand (2 star) R3.35 bed & breakfast
R3.90 bed & breakfast with bath
R4.40 bed & breakfast with bath & air conditioning.
3. Horse Shoe Motel (2 star) ... R3.50 bed & breakfast with bath or shower plus Rl for air conditioning.
Members are urgently reminded that it is essential to book as soon as possible as not only are there about 200 members expected to attend but there are other activities in Kimberley over the same weekend and accommodation will definitely be difficult to procure if left too long to book. Members must book for themselves. If however they find they are unable to obtain accommodation please let the secretary know as soon as possible (phone 42-5348 evenings: as accommodation with private families will be available. All those attending this outing must let the secretary know as soon as possible as our Kimberley Hosts want to arrange a braaivleis and other entertainment so they must know how many are coming.

GENERAL:
Johan Barnard, one of our members and a previous speaker has been awarded a doctorate. His thesis being the life of General Louis Botha. The Society extends its congratulations.
53 members and guests who attended the last meeting heard another fine lecture by one of our members Mr. Chadwick. The evening was rounded off by showing of a film of Appollo 10. For this we are indebted to Comdt. Duxbury.
JOURNAL:
Volume 4 of the journal is out and the very high standard of previous numbers has been surpassed.
