Needless to say all the listeners had their own ideas on the subject and this led to lively questioning after the lecture.
Dr. Christides has been a stalwart of the Society since its inception and has lectured on the Battle of Waterloo and aspects of the Zulu War at past meetings.

FORMATION OF BRANCHES.
A report from Mr. Neville Gomm states that much progress has been made with the formation of the Bloemfontein Branch. The inaugural meeting was held on the 3rd October, with an attendance of 15. We wish them all success in the future.
It is also intended to form a branch in Durban but no report has been made to me to date.
ROUND AND ABOUT.
Mr. Ken Jackson of P.O.Box 596, Bulawayo, writes:-
"I am Honorary Secretary of the Rhodesian Railways Historical Society and have come across photos of armoured trains used in the relief of Mafeking. I could arrange to supply the odd print to anyone really interested."
Captain. J.G. Orford of P.O. Box 960, Klerksdorp, has made a study of the battles which took place in the Klerksdorp area, e.g. Tweebosch and has offered to assist anyone wishing to visit the area.
MEMBERSHIP.
The Society has continued to go from strength to strength and membership has at this stage climbed to 188 with an average increase of approximately 8 - 10 per month.
