During May, the SAMSEC branch held a couple of training sessions which they then followed up with two short presentations on the evening of their scheduled May meeting. They have coined the term 'Zoominati' for their attendees. These have included people from all over SA, the UK and France.
Recordings of their two presentations are accessible to all interested people via the Society's web-site in the newly-created Zoom Lectures Library as MP4 files. Summaries of their lectures are in their SAMHSEC newsletter, again accessible via the Newsletter archive, or their current newsletter, on the web-site.
Training sessions are not mandatory but are to help those members who are unfamiliar with this new way of accessing the Society's talks while under Covid-19 lockdown.
Johannesburg has had two training sessions so far and will hold more sessions as requested. If you would like to attend a training session please e-mail scribe@samilitaryhistory.org or joan@trolleyscan.com
In all cases when you attend a Zoom meeting you need an invitation from the host. Every meeting has its own ID and password. If you are already on SAMHSEC or JNB's lists, you will be sent this information. We are creating a master list of members who have expressed interest, to whom notices of all future Zoom lectures will be sent.
To be added to this existing master list, if you have not yet already done so by e-mail, please e-mail scribe@samilitaryhistory.org or joan@trolleyscan.com
